The Planning Board has completed the necessary steps to apply to the NH Office of Energy and Planning for review to be included in the National Flood Insurance Program. After the state has accepted the Community Planning Ordinance, Site Plan Review Regulations and Subdivision Regulations they will forward them to the regional board and they will, in turn, submit the documents to FEMA. This process will take 5 - 6 weeks to be completed. At that time any owner of a parcel that is located in a flood zone will be able to purchase flood insurance at a greatly reduced cost through the Federal Government Flood Insurance Program.
