SELECTMENÕS MEETING

FEBRUARY 18, 2008

7:00 PM @ TOWN HALL

 

ATTENDANCE:      Bradley C. Pratt, Jr., Chairman

                                    John D. Halter

 

PERSONS APPEARING BEFORE THE BOARD:

1.                  P.J. Lamothe, Fire Chief – presentation of Fire Department budget request for the coming fiscal year.  The total budget is $42,000.00, the same as last year.  The budget for the City of Keene intercept of $5,000.00 is also the same as last year.  Payment #3 on the 4 wheel drive pumper is $36,516.47.

2.                  Tax Collector – budget submitted for $21,645.00, an increase of $1,450.00 over last year.

3.                  Mike Hayes – came in to address the unregistered vehicles at his Christmas tree lot and the old ŌMidwayĶ property.  Mr. Hayes will remove the excess vehicles within sixty days.

4.                  Patricia Putnam, Treasurer – presented the TreasurerÕs budget of $6,728.00, including a 3% salary increase and postage increase.

5.                  Marcia Kayser & Amy Kraemer – presented the Library budget of $19,870.00, an increase of $3,800.00.  A good portion of the increase is salary with an increase of three hours per week.

6.                  Tony LoProto – inquired about his pistol permit application, which is not yet ready.

7.                  Dale Smith, Planning Board Chairman – presented the Planning Board budget request of $7,500.00 versus $6,300.00 for the prior year.  The increase is for salary, Southwest Regional Planning Commission and continuous training.  Mr. Smith also requested that Selectman Halter attend the March 4, 2008 Planning Board meeting to discuss the Federal Flood Insurance program.

1.                  Town Hall application for CSA pot luck supper 5/4/08 – request for rental fee to be waived – MOTION by Selectman Pratt, seconded by Halter and voted in the affirmative to allow the use and waive the rental fee.

2.                  Email from Pat Putnam re:  George Davenport resignation

3.                  Email from John Halter re: Granite Lake dam

4.         Check outside lights, contact an electrician.
