SELECTMEN'S MEETING

PERSONS APPEARING BEFORE THE BOARD:

1.                  Glen & Ellen Mason – building permit application for an addition at TM# 117-18.  It is determined that no additional bedrooms are proposed.  One existing bedroom is being converted.  Permit approved.

2.                  James Berry, Deputy Health Officer – reported a situation with a dumpster overflowing on the Merriewoode property.  Someone dug a trench to drain the puddle of runoff, directing it into Highland Lake.  Mr. Berry has spoken with Tom Migliore who verbally agreed to clean up the trash around the dumpster, move it back to 75' from the water, and fill in the puddle area.  Mr. Berry will go back on the 17th to see that it is cleaned up.  The Selectmen agreed to send Mr. Migliore a letter as well.

3.                  Glenn Webber – building permit application for a screened porch at TM# 414-07.7.  Permit approved.

4.                  Mike Oldershaw – Says the school paid $2.44/gallon for oil last year with their arrangement with Vaillancourt's.  Today's pre-buy rate is $3.90 & $4.05.  He suggests calling Vaillancourt's and also Roy Bros. for something in writing as to the pre-buy rate.  He says the town's volunteers and employees are eligible for the same deal with Vaillancourt's if they pre-buy.

5.                  Matthew Wheeler – picked up his approved pistol permit.

6.                  Sandy Holland – picked up a dump sticker and a pistol permit application.

7.                  Patricia Putnam – questions about the ownership of the land situated between the stone walls on property listed to Mooney at TM# 408-10.  She says her surveyor says the town owns it.

2.                  Building Permit application – Anne McCarthy – TM# 116-30 – house – APPROVED.

3.                  Building Permit application – Anne McCarthy – TM# 116-20 – house – APPROVED.

4.                  Building Permit application – Anne McCarthy – TM# 116-24 – house – APPROVED.

5.                  Road Ban is lifted as of today.

6.                  Paula Fleming asks if the Lake Host appropriation will cover Island Pond and Granite Lake, too.  The Selectmen say it is only for Highland Lake.  If they want funds for Island Pond, the article will have to be amended on the floor at Town Meeting.

7.                  Carrie from the Marina called on 4/23/08 to say the boat ramp area needs some gravel ---- pot hole problems.  Selectman GrandPre' says he will notify David Vaillancourt about it.

8.                  Cyclical Revaluation quotes were briefly reviewed.  Cross Country Appraisal will be asked to come in next Monday to interview.  CNP will be asked in on the following Monday.

9.                  Revised plot plan for Hudziec building permit

10.              Ed Saleski – building permit application – Follow-up from Chet's site visit

11.              Letter from Jean Kelly

12.              Road Contract -  signed by the Board.

13.              Chairman Pratt will contact someone for a quote on painting the ceiling and walls in the Selectmen's office.

14.              Chairman Pratt says he viewed the Saleskis' proposed replacement barn and the new setback is slightly more than the existing one.  Permit approved.
