ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT

MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD June 9, 2008

MEETING CONVENED AT 7:00 PM

Members Attending: Fred Ward, Beverly Power, Sandy Sherman, Nancy Robinson and Ruth Ward, Alternate. Excused was Richard Betz

Correspondence: Letter from DES re: Laurie Mercer Shoreland Waiver

Minutes of previous meeting: Fred Ward moved and Sandy Sherman seconded to approve the minutes of the May 5, 2008 meeting as presented, the board approved.

Old Business: Fred Ward – pictures of as-built on Tuthill, Dougeneck & Warren. He will have them for the June 16^th meeting.

New Business: After discussion on the length of time it would take for the Site visit (located on Valley Road accessed via the Town of Washington end of Highland Lake) scheduled for 6:00 PM on June 16^th, the board decided to meet at the Franklin Pierce Homestead at 5:30 PM and go to the site from there in order to be able to convene the Public Hearing at 7:00 PM as posted.

Application for Variance: 7:00 PM Public Hearing on an application by Stanley and Sandra Burt for a variance of Community Planning Ordinance Article III, Section I to allow construction of a second garage bay with less than 25’ of setback from the property line. Mr. Burt presented his updated map. The board praised the visual stakes placed for their site visit. The public hearing was closed at 7:12 PM – Fred Ward moving and Sandy Sherman seconding and board approving. The Finding of Fact forms were completed. The secretary tallied the forms and announced the variance granted.

Application for Special Exception: None

Application for Site Plan Review: The board agreed there was no reason for the ZBA board to revisit the Hayes Car and Truck Site Plan Review as there was no action taken by them back in 1999 when the joint site visit was held.

Adjourned: Fred Ward moved and Sandy Sherman seconded to adjourn at 7:19 PM, the board agreed.
