DAVIS PUBLIC LIBRARY OF TRUSTEES MEETING
September 16, 2009

Present: Marcia Kayser, Chairperson; Penny Betz. Treasurer; Barbara Cleveland, Secretary;
The meeting was called to order at 8:30 AM by Chairperson Marcia Kayser. The minutes from the August meeting were read, corrected, and approved.
The Agenda was reviewed.
Treasurer’s report:
Was submitted and approved.
Library Directors Report
None
New Business
Mark Taft, principal of Faulkner Elementary School, was present and discussion ensued regarding the potential of sharing resources between DPL and Faulkner Elementary School. It was agreed to continue the discussion and to explore possibilities.
Halloween: Penny will coordinate with the Friends that the library will be open and treats will be provided by the friends.
The WiFi password is being distributed . It was agreed upon that patrons will be asked to sign that they have read the DPL Wireless Internet Connection Policy and accept all risks entailed with using the DPL Wireless Internet Connection. The forms for signature are on the computer table. Staff and Trustees will ask patrons to sign as they are encountered using the WiFi connection.
Applicants for Library Director: Three candidates have been screened and interviewed. A fourth will be screened on 9/17/09. It is hoped that an offer could be made within the following week.
Old Business
Policies: Policies were reviewed and approved; they include the following: Weather related closings, Circulation, revised Library Assistant Job description; Bulletin Boards, ALA Code of Ethics, Library Bill of Rights. Copies are on file at the library.

The next Trustee’s meeting will be Wednesday, October21, 2009 at 8:30 am.
