Davis Public Library Trustee Meeting

CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 8:32AM. Present were Penny Betz, Chair; Ginger Saleski, Treasurer; Claire Costin, Secretary; and Kelly Taylor, Library Director. Minutes of the last meeting were approved as presented.
FINANCIAL REPORT
Ginger deposited the amount of $403. in the checking account.
LIBRARY DIRECTORS REPORT
Kelly provided each of us with an updated list of Trustees’ and employees’ addresses, phone numbers and e-mail addresses. She requested another person handle the InterLibrary Loan book club to free her to do the work of the library . The book for September is SNOWFLOWER AND THE SECRET FAN by Lisa See. The October book is BEL CANTO.
Kelly will be away from the Library from Thursday, August 19 through Monday August 23.
The Friends will have a speaker on Russian dolls on August 21.
The summer Reading Program will end on August 24. There will be a hotdog party with somemores on the 25th at 5:00.
The New Hampshire Historical Society has sent a membership letter which we will pass on to the Friends.
ACTION ITEMS
The Trustees voted to accept a donation in the form of a check; also a laser printer and an old Davis Public Library sign from John Quist which had been made by his father, Oliver Quist.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Kelly will be prioritizing moving everything to digital cataloging, and volunteers will be needed for data entry.
Ginger will do further follow-up on the matter of the tabling of warrant article #26 with Terry Knowles.
Ginger reported that Pat Bassett has offered to pick up donated books and take them to the Gould House to be stored until the next book sale in the spring.
NEW BUSINESS
Ginger and Claire will be attending the NHLTA Autumn Workshop in Dublin on September 9. The topic will be “Dollars and Sense”, in preparation for budgeting in 2011. Penny will plan to attend the “Performance Review and Development” session in Laconia on September 21.
The next Trustees meeting will be on September 14.
The meeting adjourned at 9:58 AM.
