TOWN OF STODDARD

ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT

MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD October 30, 2008

MEETING CONVENED AT 6:30 PM

 

Members Attending: Beverly Power, Richard Betz, Nancy Robinson and Ruth Ward, alternate.  Excused were Fred Ward and Sandy Sherman.

 

Correspondence:  Secretary Job Description; NH Land Surveyors Association re:  Licensed Land Surveyor vs. Professional Engineer allowed to determine boundary lines; note:  I have received Septic System Design Approval for Aaron Bryer’s apartment.

 

Minutes of previous meeting:  Ruth Ward moved and Nancy Robinson seconded to accept the minutes of the July 30, 2008 meeting as presented, the board approved.

 

Old Business: Secretary’s Job description was reviewed.  Beverly Power moved and Nancy Robinson seconded to accept the secretary’s job description as presented by Nancy, the board approved.

 

New Business: thoughts on changes requested by Planning Board of the ZBA on the Community Planning Ordinances.  The following items were approved to be suggested to the Planning Board:

 

  1. Box Trailer Ordinance:  Box trailers are allowed in the Rural District only.  Location of trailers must be a minimum of 25 ft. setback from lot lines.  The said location cannot be visible from private, town or state highways/roads during any time of the year.  Existing trailers, at the effective date of this ordinance in other than Rural District (IE Residential or Lakeside Districts) must be removed with in one year.
  2. Consider increasing allowable minimum lot sizes.
  3. Outdoor Lighting Ordinance to require downward facing, fully shielded outdoor lights with in one year to promote the dark skies of Stoddard.  Said lighting, in no way, can impact the privacy of any neighbor or public road.

Adjourned:  Nancy Robinson moved and Beverly Power seconded to adjourn at 8:10 PM, the board agreed.
