1.  Call to order at 10:00 a.m.

                a.  Roll call:  Angel, Alexia, Frankie, Inga, Deb and Geri.

Angel called for a discussion of our Digital Platform/E-books. We now have a State ‘stay at home policy’, and we will no longer be able to offer ‘curb side service’, so any new electronic programs for our patrons would be a great outlet for them.

The BOT and members discussed the cost for the library vs. patron interest and usage, for some electronic programs.  Inga brought up one such program that allows patrons access to download movies, tv shows, and programs named ‘Kanopy’.   The possible cost could be $2.00 per movie or program. They also offer a one month ‘free trial’.   Inga explained some pros and cons to ‘Kanopy’ that BOT and members also brought up.  Inga would have to get the word out to our patrons to see how much demand for this kind of service would draw.  BOT mentioned that Inga could use her patron list, the ‘Keene Sentinel’, ‘Shopper News’, the ‘Friend of DPL’ list, flyers, etc. , as no point in getting a free trial if our patrons do not know of the program first.  Also, Inga is still updating and improving our website.

BOT and members discussed ‘OverDrive’, an online service offered by the library through the NH State Library which allows patrons to borrow digital content (eBooks’ and audiobooks). The OverDrive collection, however, is shared by all patrons of all NH Libraries.  Therefore, many times there is a long on hold time for a book, especially for the most current and popular books. A recent analysis of the data OverDrive compiles regarding our library’s usage of Overdrive indicated that we might need to offer patrons more detailed training in the use of Overdrive.

Regarding our budget:  Angel advised us that after her conversation with the town select board, if the town cannot have its yearly meeting, there will be no change to our budget.   They will just keep our last’s year’s budget.
