The members of the Conservation Commission are involved with other town boards in issues related to wetland permits, and the N.H. Shoreline Protection Act. They are also involved with the planning for Old Home Days activities.

The Conservation Commission is a duly constituted and official town committee, bought into existence by a vote of the Annual Town Meeting. Members are appointed to the Commission by the Selectmen.

The Conservation Commission has been working to secure 40 acres of undeveloped land on Highland Lake, "The Little Big Forest".  A final fund raising push is on with a one-to-one matching grant available through May 30th, 2023.  Please make a tax deductible contribution to the fund raising effort to help us secure this important undeveloped land! For more details on our tax deductible status click here.

For information, check out the Little Big Forest web page at The Little Big Forest.com.  Additional information is available on the Campaign to Protect a New Town Forest, click on the report title or here.  The Commission has drafted a Forest Management Plan and welcomes public comment.  To read the plan as it develops, please click on the report title.  Please make a tax deductible contribution to the fund raising effort to help us secure this important undeveloped land! For more details on our tax deductible status click here.
