Minutes of the Annual Meeting of August 3, 2018

In attendance:  David Ferner, President; Sally Ripley, Vice-President; Leigh Fosberry, Secretary; Brenda Bryer, Treasurer; and members of the Friends and the community.

Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 6:40 pm in the Stoddard Town Hall.

Treasurer’s Report:  Treasurer Brenda Bryer reported on the 2017-2018 fiscal year’s revenues and expenditures, as well as the projections for the 2018-2019 revenues and planned expenditures benefitting the library. The treasurer’s report was accepted.

President’s Report: Dave Ferner thanked all the Friends of the Library for their continued support of the work we do together.  He said that we are very lucky to have our very creative Library Director, Lauren Retting.  Some of the special projects we have had this year include the Children’s Garden and murals by local artist Sandy Sherman.  The  full report of the Friends’ activities can be found in the Annual Reports of the Town Officers of the Town of Stoddard.

Nominations and Elections:  Brenda Bryer was nominated, her nomination was seconded and she was elected to a second term as Treasurer.  David Ferner was nominated, his nomination was seconded, and he was elected President for a second term.

Other:  Angel Nicoletti suggested the FOL sponsor a “Get to know the Candidates Night” in the fall.  This item will be added to September’s agenda.

Adjourned: 6:50 pm for refreshments and the Presentation, “Travels With Hawks”.
