The Stoddard Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) and registered non-profit organization with the State of New Hampshire. The mission of the Historical Society is:

  • To preserve Stoddard's historical artifacts, documents and to mark historical sites.
  • To record Stoddard's past, present, and ongoing history.
  • To inform the public through exhibits, publications and lectures on historical subjects.
  • To provide safe storage for and to accept gifts of historical significance.

The Historical Society typically meets the 3rd Friday in April, June, August, and October, usually at the Stoddard Town Hall. These meetings include a speaker talking about a subject of historical interest to members. Please check the calendar for dates, times and locations for our meetings.

The Society maintains a historic building full of artifacts, and a hearse house (with restored horse-drawn hearse) that is open to visitors in the summer, and by appointment.

Membership is open to everyone and is $20 per person per year.

Special and Annual Events include:

  • Working with the James Faulkner Elementary School to teach Stoddard’s history in a hands-on fashion.
  • Historic house tour or hike during Stoddard Olde Home Days.
  • An Annual Meeting and potluck picnic in August
  • Historic marker design and placement on town historic sites.
