Openings on the Planning Board for 2024 Election

File for Candidacy by April 5th 5pm deadline

There are four positions on the Planning Board up for election at the May 14, 2024 election.  They are:

  • Three Year Term - one position
  • Two Year Term - one position
  • One Year Term - two positions

If you are interested in serving, you must declare your candidacy between March 27 and April 5, 2024, by submitting a Candidacy Form with the Town Clerk.  A copy of the Candidacy Form is attached and detailed information for filing is available on the Town Clerk's web page.

The Planning Board is responsible for setting the land use policies in town, dealing with site plan reviews, updating the Master Plan and the Community Planning Ordinances.  The Board meets the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7pm for 1-2 hours. The Board may have some special meetings, if needed, to deal with site plan reviews or other Public Hearings.

The Board has 6 members and one representative from the Select Board. Terms are staggered by duration.  Two members serve a 3 year term; two serve a 2 year term; and two serve 1 year term.   The Board can have Alternate members who are nominated and voted on by the Board. If you are interested in being an Alternate member, please contact any of the current Board members.  Serving as an Alternate member provides you with the ability to learn more about the Board and to serve the community.
