Community Planning Ordinance Amendments on May 2024 Ballot

There are three amendments on the Stoddard Warrant to amend the Community Planning Ordinance (CPO).  The Warrant Articles are recommended by the Planning Board.  Attached to this announcement is the full text of each ordinance and a comparison of each amendment to existing language with a brief description of the intent of the change.  The Planning Board encourages all voting residents to read the material and vote at the Annual Election and/or speak to a member of the Planning Board to learn more about the changes. 

The Warrant Articles as currently drafted (as of April 3rd) are copied below:

Article 02 CPO Amendment #1 - ADU Are you in favor of the adoption of Amendment #1 as proposed by the Planning Board for the Community Planning Ordinance (Zoning), Article 3, Section 3E to clarify the section on Accessory Dwelling Units and apply the ordinance to both new construction as well as the conversion of existing structures.

Article 03 CPO Amendment #2 - Non-Conforming Lots Are you in favor of the adoption of Amendment #2 as proposed by the Planning Board for the Community Planning Ordinance (Zoning), Article VI - Non-Conforming Lots to remove subparagraphs 1 through 6 and reorganize the article.

Article 04 CPO Amendment #3 - Signs Permitted as Special Exception Are you in favor of the adoption of Amendment #3 as proposed by the Stoddard Planning Board for the Community Planning Ordinance (Zoning), Article XIV, Section V, to allow signs in any district with a special exception.
