Friends of the Davis Public Library
Minutes of the April 22, 2019 meeting
In attendance: President Dave Ferner, Vice President Sally Ripley, Secretary Leigh Fosberry, Treasurer Brenda Bryer, Library Director Lauren Rettig, Inga Cullen, new Library Director and Member at Large, Bill Steiniger.
Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 7 PM..
Librarian’s Report:
In March, the library had 279 visits, 435 items were borrowed from DPL, 199 were in house; no museum passes were used. In addition, 8 items were borrowed from the Interlibrary Loan program, and 228 from NH Downloadable Books, and 11 participated in Book Club.
Programming-
Winter Reading Challenge – 49 participants
Advanced Care Directives – 2 participants
Upcoming:
May 8th, 6-7 PM. A Garden For Wildlife: Natural Landscaping for a Better Backyard.
June Weekly Yoga, Mondays, 6-7 PM. Yoga on the lawn with Ditteke Ederveen Gorman
Trustee’s Report, Comments, Requests: There were none.
Treasurer’s Report: The report was accepted as written and will be filed for audit.
Minutes of the March 25th Meeting were approved as written.
Annual Meeting Program – Possible candidates for the open positions, Secretary and Member at Large. Various programs were discussed and there was a consensus regarding Alchemist Workshop and their play, Lending Doll. The setting is a library and we could involve the local children, using the summer reading program to recruit. We voted to fund this at $350.
Old Home Days Book Sale – We will begin collecting new books as soon as we have sorted through the books that were left from last year. If you would like to assist in this, please contact Dick Schofield by email we2scofields@gmail.com
